A delicious twist on a classic grilled cheese sandwich, made in a waffle iron for a crispy, cheesy treat!

- 4 slices bread (We used Texas toast, any sandwich bread works)
- 2 tablespoons butter (softened)
- 2 slices American cheese (or cheddar slices)
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded or sliced thin)
Instructions
- Preheat waffle iron.
- Spread butter onto one side of each slice of bread.
- Top plain side of bread with a slice of American cheese and mozzarella.
- Add top slice of bread – butter side out.
- Place in waffle iron and press down (use a pot holder or towel to avoid burning your hands).
- Cook until bread is toasted and cheese is melted.
- Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Serve immediately.
