Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface and cut into squares.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry beignets in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Use a slotted spoon to transfer beignets to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar while warm and serve immediately.
