Description

A rich and moist chocolate cake with a gooey hot fudge interior.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 4 Large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Hot Fudge Sauce
  • Powdered Sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth, then allow it to cool slightly.
  3. Whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until creamy and well combined.
  4. Add the large eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Sift together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients gradually, folding gently.
  7. Mix in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  8. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread the hot fudge sauce evenly on top.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  11. Cool the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring the loaf onto a wire rack.
  12. Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free option, substitute unsalted butter with margarine or coconut oil.
  • Brown sugar can be swapped for granulated sugar for a deeper flavor.
  • For a gluten-free option, use a 1:1 gluten-free baking flour instead of all-purpose flour.
