This rich brownie cake topped with a smooth ganache is a chocolate lover’s dream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar until well combined.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  8. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  9. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  10. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  12. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until just simmering.
  13. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate, stirring until smooth.
  14. Pour the ganache over the cooled brownie cake and let set before slicing.
