Instructions
- Prep the Onion Rings:
- Slice onions into thick rings.
- Set up a dredging station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs.
- Dip onion rings in flour, then egg, then bread crumbs. Ensure they are well-coated.
- Cook the Bacon:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Once cooled, chop bacon into small pieces.
- Fry the Onion Rings:
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the onion rings until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Shape and Cook the Patties:
- Divide ground beef into four equal parts and shape into patties. Season with salt and pepper.
- In the same skillet used for bacon, cook patties about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium, adding a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty in the last minute to melt.
- Assemble the Burgers:
- Toast burger buns in the skillet or oven until golden.
- On the bottom bun, place a burger patty, followed by an onion ring, a sprinkle of bacon, and repeat once more for a double stack.
- Top with more bacon, lettuce, tomato, and sauce if desired, then finish with the top bun.
